If you’re craving something rich, fudgy, and super simple, these 4-Ingredient Sweet Potato Brownies are the perfect treat. They’re naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, and refined sugar–free — and they come together in under an hour!
How many servings does this recipe make?
This recipe makes one 8×8 pan. I like to cut these brownies into 16 squares, so I would say this recipe serves 16!

What ingredients do I need to make these sweet potato brownies?
If you want to make these brownies, here’s what you’ll need:
- mashed sweet potato
- almond butter (or other nut/seed butter, see below)
- cocoa powder
- pure maple syrup
Additional optional ingredients include pure vanilla extract, salt, and chocolate chips!
What kinds of nut butters can I use in this recipe?
I love making these brownies with almond butter, but cashew butter, peanut butter, and hazelnut butter should all be delicious as well!
How do I make this recipe nut free?
To make this recipe nut free, simply use sunflower seed butter in this recipe in place of a nut butter!

How can I make these brownies even better?
If you’re up for adding a couple more ingredients, I would recommend adding pure vanilla extract, salt, and some chocolate chips!
What kind of chocolate chips should I use?
I love using Pascha 100% cacao baking chips (dairy free and unsweetened) or Hu Kitchen baking chips (they’re dairy free and sweetened with coconut sugar).

How do I store these brownies?
I recommend storing these brownies in a sealed container at room temperature for 3-4 days or in the fridge for up to 6 days.
